Manuel Turizo (full name Manuel Turizo Zapata) is an urbano and reggaeton singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Colombia whose trademark is his smooth buttery tenor singing voice. The global recognition of his music has helped his rise into the mainstream of Latin music. Una Lady Como Tu from 2016 was awarded an Colombian Kids Choice Award as Favorite Song for 2017. His debut album was a long-player ADN with the Sony-owned company based in Medellin, La Industria Inc. It reached the number 8 spot at the top of the Top Latin Albums chart. The following year he joined Ozuna to record their Top Five smash Vaina Loca. In 2020, he collaborated with Noriel for Mala Influencia and dropped the album Dopamina in the following year. In 2021, he also performed the duet for TINI's smash streaming single Maldita Foto. In 2023, 2000 with the smash hit La Bachata was released. Turizo came from a musical household his mother and older brother have been musicians. In interviews, he described the importance of music as a requirement. In his childhood he was instructed to perform on the guitar, piano and the ukulele. His initial choice of career was to be a veterinarian, but his brother Julian convinced him to study singing with a Cuban instructor. The end result was that he found his talents for singing, and the result transformed his career path.
